Bob & Kathy Mellas started the business in 1971.  Andrew, their son, began working for the family business in 1982 while in high school. After attending the University of MN, Andrew returned to the family business full time. Keeping the family tradition, Andrew continued to successfully grow the business. In 2008 Andrew and his wife Jane assumed ownership of Mellas Electric Inc.
